Standing on over 5,200 acres of manicured grounds, TAMU campus offers countless scenic spots. But where should you take your grad photos? Let’s review the best Texas A&M senior portrait locations for your session.

Kyle Field

You know it and love it; this iconic fixture of TAMU campus has been the epicenter of endless memories for countless fellow Aggies. From your first days at Fish camp to your final yell during football season — a few casual photos in front of this landmark will help commemorate it all. I love taking a few photos here with your favorite gameday getup — think a maroon jersey and your trusty cowboy boots.

The Academic Building

With over a century of history, this Neoclassical building is one of the most beautiful on campus. From the copper dome to the spacious rotunda to the ionic columns, this building’s architecture creates a timeless atmosphere that is the perfect backdrop for some dressed-up grad photos.

The Gardens

For early spring grad photos, there couldn’t be a better location than the Gardens on campus. Covering seven acres of land, these gardens include everything from butterfly gardens, fragrant herbs, and even a grape vineyard. The gardens are most picturesque from March to April, with fields of blooming bluebonnets and wildflowers. This location pairs beautifully with a white sundress or a casually dressy wardrobe.

The YMCA Building

The Albritton Bell Tower

The Administration Building

This is where you’ll get those iconic column and stair-step photos. With 14 columns, ornate moulding, and iron doors, the pristine facade of this building creates a beautiful academic feel. At the top of the steps, the white stone and tiled floor add a great contrast. I love taking cap and gown photos here, so bring your stole and other regalia for the complete look.

Just keep in mind that during peak grad photo season, the wait for this building can be upwards of an hour. If you’re set on including this popular location, take that into account when scheduling your session.

The Association of Former Students + The Fountain

There are so many fun photo opportunities here! Between the iconic giant Aggie ring and Kyle Field as your backdrop, it doesn’t get any more quintessentially Aggie than this. For a bit of variety, take a few close-ups against the green ivy wall. But my favorite has to be the nearby fountain. The tradition of hopping in the fountain, popping a bottle of champagne, and throwing confetti is one of the most fun parts of grad photos.

The Military Walk

As an A&M staple, the Military Walk offers a wide range of scenery and backdrops for your grad photos. Taking a stroll along this beloved walkway, steeped in tradition and at the heart of TAMU campus, is a simple yet beautiful way to encapsulate the unique feeling found only in Aggieland.

Northgate (or your favorite coffee shop!)

While yes, so much of your time in college is spent studying and preparing for your future, the memories made on late nights out should be remembered too. As the go-to spot for celebrations or hangouts with your closest friends, your favorite bar or nearby cafe can add a unique flair to your grad photos. The front of the Dixie Chicken and Bottle Cap Alleyway are some of the best spots.
